My proposed
May dates for an event have been postponed
.

I am still working on securing an event venue.
Capable of holding 500 to 1,200 people.
As well as considering  new dates for the event.

My MAJOR focus is to get direct access to people who wish to attend via email contact.  Of which I have started a List by using my

Everyone Needs to Register

There currently are about 300 people who have registered since February.  Soon I will be sending out more information to these people who have registered.  To help me to get everyone registered.

If I don't know who you are and how to contact you via email.
I will be unable to invite you to the event.

As of today, the
Los Alamitos Race Course has not gotten back to me.  In regards to striking a contract to allow me to utilize their facility.

I do not have a usable back up plan in hand.
The proposed May dates that I have spoken
about are not likely to happen.

Today, the Los Alamitos Race Course turned me down to stage a large scale 600 to 1,200 person event at their location.  LARC Management did not want to deal with such a big event at their venue.

They seem to only want to rent out their nice Vessels Club.  Which is only a 299 person bar and lounge area - a rather large indoor space.  With lots of seating and low tables, plus mingle space all around.   There is also adjoining outside patio seating that overlooks the race course.

But, 299 people is like a Big Show Services/Show Support party with a few extra friends from Parades, Characters and Entertainment.  I feel we need a event venue that can hold at least 600 invited guests.

So still Register today to show your interest and support of this event.  Without direct email contact with you all.  I can not come up with the required payment in a quick 3 week period to contract for a venue space.  I really need people on stand-by to generate the venue payment up front.

I will Emailed out individual invites once I have a real signed and contracted plan in my hands.  One can not just pay for an admission and show up like my past events.  As I think I am going to have to limit the head count in some shape or form.

Everything is flexible.
Nothing is in stone as of today.

Every Sunday in the late afternoon I will post a weekly update on the status of the reunion.  Posting at the top of this page any news I have to pass on.

#1.  I am still driving to get people to Register their interest in attending.  Before I send out personal invites to allow the different groups of people to attend my function.  Better details will appear on the Registration Page as I get organized in the next few days.

#2 .  I am waiting on my chosen event venue to get back to me with a contract.  I have asked for certain challenging things.  To allow for a variable sized event, depending on how many people show an interest in buying a ticket to attend.  If you do not register, I will have no way of inviting you.

Starting out with the first 300 of my closest and well known friends from Show Services, Parades, Characters, and the Entertainment Division of Disneyland.  From the 60s, 70s, 80 and early 90s.

If I am able to expand the use of the venue to include up to 600 or more people.   Then the event will increase in size by double or more.  But if I am really successful in getting people to come out  to mix and mingle.  I may need a venue for 900 or up to 1,200 people total.

The Event: Disneyland Entertainment Division Reunion



If you missed my previous two
Entertainment Division Reunions in 2005 and 2013.  Some say that the first 2005 event was The BEST at the Santa Ana Science Center : Discovery CUBE.

It is of course not the place that makes for a great event, it's the People.
This is the current list of those people who have Registered  ( pdf)  to be send an invitation by me.  Based on seniority of your starting year with the Entertainment Division.

When I get to 300 people are confirmed as YES votes from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s .  My last year was 1995 so anyone from the 2000s will have to wait a bit for an invite from me.  I will book the event venue space for a chosen date.  Tentatively (tbd) on Friday, May 31st, 2024 as of today.  As I am still negotiating a contract to get expandable space for this event.

First 300 people are required to kick off a small gathering.  Then for 600, then maybe 900 people, and finally 1,200 possible people who may want to attend in the world of possibilities.

Over 850+ people attended the 2005 event, to give you a sense of size.

This year I have been trying to arrange a deal at the Los Alamitos Race Course.  To use their Vessels Club as the main venue space.  But that indoor location is only rated for 299 people.  Even though it could really hold 500 to 600 people as a stand up cocktail function fully packed.  It is a fire marshal issue to go beyond 299 people in the Vessels Club.

The good thing is that there are Large Concourse Areas in front of the Vessels Club that are indoors.  As well as Outdoor Patio Seating with Tables overlooking the actual race course on a nice summer day.

The BIGGEST Rub is that Los Alamitos Race Course doesn't want me as a client on any Saturdays when the track has weekend racing scheduled.  I inquired about doing a public mix-in, but the track owners said no.
 

My originally planned  "Save The Date"  WAS for
Saturday, May 25th, 2024

The DATE is likely be moved to a FRIDAY
when the track has no racing

Either Friday, May 24th or Friday, May 31st
(Tentative Event Date, yet to be determined)

But I am leaning towards Friday, May 31st

People have asked me why I want or need Shining Stars in the first place.
In charging only $40.00 dollar per person for the past events to attend.
Even though nothing in given back other than simple admission to the event. 
I take a lose in the overall financing of things.  One needs to Pay to Play !!!.

Shining Stars help me offset a small amount needed to stage these big reunions.
Then I get to see ALL My Disneyland Friends being that I live 435 miles away.5 miles away.

Zoo Crew T-Shirts and More

As some of you know from my Facebook posts.  I was helping one of my best friends Mr. Christopher 'Kiby' Miovac locate to Northern Minnesota in early 2023.  He had found an old and really stained Zoo Crew T-Shirt in his 2 storage units as we were cleaning out his Huntington Beach belongings.

Seeing that old shirt from 30 years ago got me thinking - like I always am.
We or I should reproduce that iconic T-Shirt for my next Disneyland Reunion.  Not just the original T-Shirt design, but some variations on the theme.  In both men's and women's clothing.
